You got him Sandy.

John Ernst Steinbeck, Jr. (/stanbk/; February 27, 1902  December 20, 1968) was an American author. He won the 1962 Nobel Prize in Literature "for his realistic and imaginative writings, combining as they do sympathetic humour and keen social perception".[2] He has been called "a giant of American letters", and many of his works are considered classics of Western literature.[3]

During his writing career, he authored 27 books, including 16 novels, six non-fiction books, and two collections of short stories. He is widely known for the comic novels Tortilla Flat (1935) and Cannery Row (1945), the multi-generation epic East of Eden (1952), and the novellas Of Mice and Men (1937) and The Red Pony (1937). The Pulitzer Prize-winning The Grapes of Wrath (1939)[4] is considered Steinbeck's masterpiece and part of the American literary canon.[5] In the first 75 years after it was published, it sold 14 million copies.[6]

Most of Steinbeck's work is set in central California, particularly in the Salinas Valley and the California Coast Ranges region. His works frequently explored the themes of fate and injustice, especially as applied to downtrodden or everyman protagonists

Well done Dave I didn't think it would go so quick. Over to you.

John Dennis Profumo, 5th Baron Profumo, CBE (/prfjumo/ pr-FEW-moh; 30 January 1915 9 March 2006), was a British politician whose career ended in 1963 after a sexual relationship with the 19-year-old model Christine Keeler in 1961. The scandal, which became known as the Profumo affair, led to his resignation from the Conservative government of Harold Macmillan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Profumo

In looking at this I found that Christine Keeler admitted to being a spy https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/10108803/Christine-Keeler-admits-she-betrayed-Britain.html

Over to you Dave. biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Born on July 19, 1860, in Fall River, Massachusetts, Lizzie Borden and her sister, Emma, lived with their father, Andrew Borden, and stepmother, Abby (Durfee Gray) Borden, into adulthood. On August 4, 1892, Andrew and Abby Borden were found murdered in their home. Lizzie was arrested and tried for the axe murders. She was acquitted in 1893 and continued to live in Fall River until her death, on June 1, 1927. The case was never solved.
