May I humbly suggest that jokes may be better posted in the Joke Section or the I Digress Section?

See also forum rules;  "The forum is divided into a number of sections to allow members and visitors to more easily find the discussions that are of interest to them. We ask that members try to post in the most appropriate section for their subject matter in order to facilitate the smooth running and efficiency of the forum. If members inadvertently post in the wrong section, we may for the sake of clarity and consistency move the topic to a more suitable location. If we move your post, please do not take offence. We only do so to ensure the efficiency of the forum, and to enable members and visitors to more easily access the information or discussions they are interested in."

Unfortunately the webby does not always have to time to move posts to where they should be.

I suggest nothing humble in that Vic....just a chasten for us.... so if a post contains serious response and includes a semi-serious/humourous comment within the same post, do you still wish to banish the lot to the The Bermuda Triangle of humour?......at our age humour is the very essence of life and helps/equips us through most of life's hurdles, be they health/financial or even bereavement........doesn't cure them but helps to an extent for us to deal with them, more than any' 'sober sides' ever will IMO.......
Would you like to monitor all posts first Vic, and see if there is a hint of humour so you can ball pass to the correct "area"?...agree to disagree, providing humour is not misplaced at someone else's expense, and quite often humour can stimulate more serious comment....I guess my post regarding my brother's 'Words of Wisdom' failed your humour test?........Hoo Roo

I'm kinda with Vic,
There are specific sections for specific topics and by posting jokes in the general section it firstly moves a thread further down the list and also those that like to just goto the joke section miss out on seeing and commenting on your joke..

If you want to race camels you wouldn't enter your animals in the Melbourne Cup would you..

Ohh and I'm not sure Vic was specifically aiming his post at you Golddetectornomad but then again if the cap fits....

Don't worry too much. Cindy will shift whatever she thinks appropriate to another section.

Vic, take a deep breath , count to 10 and exhale. Completely agree with your post and if a nose is put out so be it. Batteries are obviously in need of charging in someones detector.

I agree that jokes in the General Section that have nothing to do with a nomad forum are a pain when there is a section for them.

It is unfair for those wishing to see posts relating to RV subjects pushed off the page by increasing numbers of jokes.  That is why we have several different sections, you have jokes and I digress where jokes can be aired, so how many sections do you need?

My sense of humour is as good as anyone else's so don't lecture me on my sense of humour.  The forum rules are there for a purpose and if you don't like them maybe you should go somewhere else.   Cindy doesn't have the time to monitor all the posts, and it is up to us to attempt to at least do the right thing and post in the right section, that's the least we can do.

Apparently you would rather see the forum turn into a packa-poo ticket for your benefit.

Well said Vic, I am sick and tired of pointing this fact out over the years.

General forum to me is for something remotely related to caravaning etc, not pre teen jokes.

Totally agree with you Vic. Have been wanting to comment for some time but knowing how some people attack, decided to wait for someone else to be on the receiving end first.
I will add Jokes go in the Jokes section NOT I Digress. Now, for anyone wanting to comment on that I won't be replying so don't waste your energy.

I'm with Vic on this as well.

Vic's original post it does say "do not take offence" and went on to explain his reasons why he put the post up which makes sense to me.

I'll have to put my hand up for posting jokes in "I Digress" section as well as "Just Joking".  I'm not saying I haven't, but without checking back thru my postings, I'm sure I've never posted a joke in the General Forum, with the exception that I may have responded to a joke with a joke of my own in that section.

It appears that all postings on this subject agree that no jokes to be posted in General Forum.  I'll respect that feeling of all the other Members. But does anyone object to posting of occasional jokes in "I Digress" ? Obviously Vic41 has no objection which I've noted from his posting.

smile To all those that were quick to have a shot a Vic, do what I did ?? go back and read his post properly ???  to fully understand what you mean vic41, after all THIS IS GENERAL FORUM, and all you are saying is DO NOT START a JOKE ? in the General Forum  And that is within Cindy's Rules and Guidelines.

You are Not saying there is to be No Humour in general. as quite often some legite general comments ?? can lead to ''humorous comebacks'' and you are not saying to avoid that type of humour, ? You are saying General is for General ??  Jokes are jokes, ? I digress can be almost anything, ? craft is for craft, Etc Etc !!

Good post Mate ?? with the best interests of the forum at heart, smile

I agree with Vic, we have sub forums so please put your Jokes in the Jokes section and not in the General forum.

You obviously think they should be allowed on all threads Billy, great attitude there, stuff it up for everyone.  Not enough that jokes are already posted on two threads?   Need more?  In case you haven't noticed this is an RV forum not a joke forum, but then I don't think you would..no

Agreed, I am talking about where jokes are posted.  It is an RV forum, not a joke forum.

Vic - what I am saying is - there can be humour in the "General" forum, because of the subject matter sometimes - but a joke - i.e. "Why does a chicken cross the road" - should be in Just Joking - I think this is what most people would like to see - humourous things put in I Digress are often not "jokes" - but just funny "things".

Now you see why Happy Wanderer nor I put up a post about this - misinterpretation!!
