Weigh bridge for our caravan and 4x4

Decided to go over the weigh bridge in Virginia Qld before we left for Coffs. Great shock and horror we were over by 440kgs between the van and 4x4.Headed off to Arrow Caravans to do the ball weight which was fine

We have had a huge throw out and now have empty cupboards but still over we think so will head off to the weigh bridge in Coffs again as our challenge is to be under.

Rod has had to cut down on all his tools as he is going to work doing maintenance as we go along.blankstare

What a great life.

Mann river is our next port of call, any one been there.?

Still cant free camp as we are having trouble with our batteries so will have this sorted out at the end of the week.

Oh Sue, I am so jealous. I am glad that you are finally under way with your trip and new life. Now my dear, those batteries, hmmm, well guess Rod will just have to handle that one. Have a wonderful time, never been to Mann River, in fact do not even know where it is. Looking forward to seeing some pics.

Have fun. Sharon.

If you are refering to Camps 5 ,#259, been a few years since been there & it was a good camp site. The access from the Gwydir Hwy,35kl east of Glenn Innes is a sealed section BUT is a steep dicline & a heavy pull back out. The sealed section went only to the foot of the mountain.

third weight is caravan supported on jockey wheel on weighbridge uncoupled from car total cost was $5.00

Do you have to uncouple the Car and Caravan to be weighed

Thanks for that ,I have been wanting to do the same for a long time, But didn't want to go to a busy weighbridge and hold people up

For any West Ozzies in the Perth area, north of the river the Stirling Council recycling depot in Balcatta do it for about $10 (campervan) on a Saturday morning, but best to ring the council during the week and check.

South of the river, Sykes Transport in Kewdale do it, my campervan at the time cost me $16, both north and south places give you a weighbridge certificate/docket included in the price.

They do caravans as well, but I'm not sure of the prices for those.

call into any Grain corp, Viterra or cbh sites, they will do it for nothing. if closed some of them have a window so you can see your weight.

Well worth the trouble and cost to make sure you are legal .

Specially if you have to make an insurance claim sometime .
