Anyone managed to get hold of one of these gadgets recently ??......is it really for dummies like me, if so WHERE DO YOU GET IT !!, hopefully not on ebay.
Advices please as it may well enable me to use my Sat TV service so thoughtfully installed in my van, but never used.....tut, tut, tut !!
try this http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=LS3300 or http://www.jaycar.com.au/productResults.asp?CATID=&SUBCATID=&keywords=satellite+finder=&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=
Can get from anywhere that sells the systems, guy at Millmerran Camp Oven festival was selling them for either $20 or $25 - same as ours (which came with our system) - which works like a dream.

I reckon you can't go past the SF3239 sat finder from www.satplus.com.au this meter will tell you the signal strength and the quality of signal for the sat you are looking for.
This to me is the only way to be positive that you are aimed at the satellite and are getting the signal you need for your receiver to work.

friends of ours bought one from access antenna,s ph 0894464433 or website www.accessantennas.com.au works a dream and paid I think about $100 ,it picks up only 1 satellite that you need to view the tv stations . hope this helps
With this unit you do not need to have the vast decoder or tv turned on, you just connect one coax to this unit and the dish, move the dish around and bingo you have the C1 signal on the small screen, you then disconnect the meter from the dish and connet the decoder to the dish, and you have a perfect picture.
This unit also lets you connet to your decoder via rca leads and you can watch on the small screen, too small for me so we watch on normal digital tv
SatPlus is a great company to deal with, nothing is too much trouble for them.
