Mobile phone security

confuse For smartphone owners who use Telstra there is a free option available from Telstra although not all of their staff know about it, the software program is called lookout and it provides a level of virus protection if you are using your phone as a modem or if you use your phone to access the internet.

The program can also link your phone to your computer and in the event it is missplaced you can activate a loud noise to help find the phone or if stolen and you activate the loud noise can only be stopped by taking the battery out and as soon as you put it back the noise starts again and can only be turned on or off by you it also means your phone can never be used untill you turn it off.biggrinbiggrin

If interested call at your local Telstra shop its free and not much is these days.

Why don't they make this information known to their customers?
Everyone gets just a little bit of information, and until we pool our knowledge it stays as a little bit.

I think poota and fone are different and this program is designed for android phones and only free if you are a Telstra customer

Lookout is a third party app for Android and Iphone. It appears there is a free version and a Premium Version for $30 a year.
Here's a link to their site. Premium Version

Free Version

Avast is another good one.
