Just A Thought!

We already have the stickers, but those looking for GN's have to look closely at the RV's in the area they are in.

A flag would be more visible to those looking for GN's to meet with.

I'm not too sure about the Koala as the iconic design, we have a nomadic icon wandering in and out of  this forum at frequent intervals.

I gather that he is shy and retiring, and I feel that perhaps a wombat would be ideal.

This flag would bring people together. Maybe Dougwe, Michelle and Dazren would comment on having this marvellous fellowaww as our identifying symbol.

In years gone by, before the advent of stickers, members of this forum advertised themselves using grey or silver ribbons on their antenae of their vehicles. I remember Ma saying their silver Christmas ribbon had lasted for years. I cant remember whether it had helped her meet other forumites though.

The stickers arent all that obvious, ribbons probably wouldnt be either. In reality theres onle a small percentage of the travelling population who belong to this forum.

Someone, I think it was Wombat, developed a larger version of the stickers to use as a flag, think it was used at a get-together??.

Hi Beth,
I didn't know Norma's(shady & me) big yellow bus, reason being I hadn't met any of the GN's other than Jonathon, unfortunately I had misplaced his card and had no power connection to email.

Thank you for responding,

Jeannine.

Musing..

I have been thinking about what could be used for the GNs so they are recognised while travelling. What came to mind was a WHITE FLAG which symbolises to Surrender or Lets Talk,

and because I have a love for the our Australian Koalas, I thought maybe a cartoon character could be used whos named (GN) he could be screen printed in grey in the centre of the flag. Anyone else have any other ideas.?

I'm sure there are many great artist's here that could draw the cute little character too.

Just a thought!

Thanks for the reply Kevin,

Let me get my specs so I can respond..that's better I can see...Its nothing to do with my age either, you wish woman...loll

Why I mentioned it, was because I was looking for the GNs at Mareeba Rodeo and couldnt find any of them at the time,
but, I did catch up with some a few weeks later when I returned to Mareeba, Im sure it was because it was so packed when the Rodeo was on.

Maybe both could be considered.

Cheers Jeannine.

I think Wombat said Cindy was working on a flag of some sort. Wombat's away at the moment, I believe, so there may be no comment from him.

I'll be putting a silver ribbon on my rig. I think grey is too neutral a colour.

I can understand you having trouble finding them at Mareeba showgrounds Misde. It's a HUGE area. I was lucky when I went there last year to meet Jonathan, I had his mobile number and he directed me from the entrance. This year, Norma's(shady & me) big yellow bus would have been a good marker, but only if you knew what her rig was.

Wombat on a flag. His head is big enough now any bigger and he wouldn't fit through his front door of the hole or the back door for that matter.

OMG Kevin that would give Wombat a big head for sure if we put him on the flag.  He would be permanently sent to "The Room" as none of us could stand it!!!  How about a caravan instead??? biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I flag is a great idea, but not with a wombat please. A caravan would be great or something else connected with travelling.
