 Gday...

I know the feelling jimbo .... three and half years on the road and I still haven't met anyone from this forum. no disbelief I think it is because I travel to small, inland places and camp in the bush predominantly and stay away from the coastal areas and tourist-type places. I feel there is nothing worse than a crowded campsite.

Maybe my 'name' should be Grumble-guts rather than rockylizard aww biggrin cry

However, I have met people from the Land Rover Owner's forum and Exploroz Forum.

Cheers - John

Hi - I am in Mildura for a few days - not sure if I will head to Broken Hill or to Renmark or over to Flinders Ranges - but will make my mind up before MOnday morning.  So far the only thing I have planned is a sunset trip out to Mungo on Friday afternoon - I only hope this rain stops - yes it is raining started an hour ago - first I have seen since Saturday.

Gday...

Still at Sale Showgrounds in wet, wild, wooly, cold and raining Gippsland in Victoria. If things go to plan I will be heading off next Tuesday - heading NORTH ! ! ! Family members are coping excellently with cancer problems so hopefully I will get a fair bit of 'free time' for the next couple of months.

However, unless I change my modus operandi, I will be about four or so weeks before I hit north of the QLD border - Cunnamulla. From there I will be heading west to Thargomindah, Nockatungra and eventually round the back and up to Quilpie. It could take me a two or three weeks or so to get from Cunnamulla to Quipie.

I'll make a point of advertising my forward movements when I get to Cunnamulla etc. biggrin

Cheers - John

Hi jimbo I'm in Broken Hill heading north on Sunday. Just had three nights in Mildura and it seems I missed the rain Esmerelda. I have been fighting the flu since I left home so probably wouldn't have been good company any way. Weather has been fine all the way so far. Will be fantastic if I can stop barking like a dog...... I'm with friends at the moment so staying in parks but hope to do some free camping further up. Much more fun... Any one camped near me the past week would ask for their money back, I must have driven them mad coughing all night. I agree with you, I have not come across anyone from the site either although a chap near us in Mildura
did look familiar from the site I think and he had a call from someone he called Pricey. Isn't that someone on here??
Maybe it's the fever kicking in? If Anyone is going to be travelling between Broken Hill, Cobar, bourke area from Sunday on please give me a hoy.
Safe travels.
Tess

Have you ever thought of the stats re caravans.
I think there are more than 300000 caravans plus ? motorhomes and ? campertrailers in aus.
GN equals 4000 so we make up 1 percent if we are lucky
Consider that possibly half of us are not travelling at any one time and then you can see why it is so hard to see another GN out there.

I am one of those that still has to go to work so that is where I am 3 days a week.

 Hi Evie & Rhys,

Alan and I are at Broken Hill staying at the Silverland. We are moving on on Sunday too, probably back towards Mildura. Would be great to actually meet a GN. Anyway, hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

Brenda.

I agree Jimbo, we have now been on the road for 13 months, and the only stickered GN we have met is Cruising Granny, and it was not because of the GN sticker!  We happened to be in the same van park as her north of Adelaide, and I saw her tyre cover.

We have however, met people who know about the site, lurk about the site, but have not joined or comment on the forums.

Our sticker on our 4WD has since come off the window, and the one on the van is also threatening to come unstuck.
