Late hubby had an FJ Holden with a layback front seat (unheard of in those days!)  Great at the drive-in, provided you didn't want to watch the moviesmile  Ah the memories of my misgotten youth.

Cheers!

Chris

Yes Jetj
those photos were taken at Belmont South- wonderful sunsets over the lake, fabulous water views on 3 sides.
wonderful

@ Beth
lmao- I remember, but I though it was only applied to panel vans with surf boards on the top.

There is still a drive-in at Heddon Greta (near Maitland) www.drive-in.com.au

Well worth a visit if you are passing through.

That's Belmont Pines by the look of it. I spent a week there and loved it.

You're right Rosie. Panel vans. wink

There's 2 drive-ins still left in SEQ. One 'just down the road' from me at Yatala, and one out at Ipswich, which my son and family freqent. They make a kind-of bed in the back of the Patrol, like we used to do with our old Kingswood Stationwagon. biggrin

Hahaha, I remember a few cars with them in. Camping bench seat I think they were called. My mate had an FC Holden with one too, but every time you hit a big bump you'd hit the cable and the seat would drop back. A bit scary at 60 miles per hour. We didn't have kilometers then......

Me too Milo, was a long time ago though. There used to be a caravan park at Bass Hill too.
