Landslide on Clyde Mountain NSW

The Kings Highway NSW - the main route between Canberra and Batemans Bay (or that part of the south coast) is closed. With all the wet weather there has been a landslide at Pooh Corner. (a cave where people leave bears and soft toys!) At first they said it would be open by Monday 23rd APril now they are saying it may be longer. Oh dear. It will be a long way round going down to Bega and the Brown Mountain!

Check on the condition of the road that goes through Sassafrass/Braidwood from Nowra to Canberra. Its nearly all sealed nowadays, might be worth it instead of such a long trip.

Brown Mtn was closed recently too, I believe re-opened a few weeks ago.

Hi Gerty That's the way some are being sent but with all the rain and traffic that has travelled on it over the last 2 days hubby has decided he would rather go the long way round. I'll try and upload a photo of the landslide soon. It won't be fixed for a while as every time they take some of it away, more slips.

Here's what it looks like. The more they try and take it away, the more it slides.

Wow! We live in Canberra and have used that road many times.. you can see where that protective netting has come down with it. Scary!

Yes I understand why you'd want to come the long way NeilnRuth, that Nowra road when wet can be dodgy on the Nowra end... in good weather its ok.
