Coromal caravans

We had a look at a couple of Coromal caravans at Caloundra (just North of Brisbane) this afternoon, and were very impressed. Our Jayco's ok, but we(read I) would like a van with a bit more comfort and a shower/toot but still not too big.

Theres lots of Coromals around, do any Coramal owners on the forum have any comments please?

Hi Gerty, We have a Coromal Capri 535. I think it is 16 or 18ft. Bought it 2nd hand a few years ago, and very pleased with it. Shower/toilet, island bed, plenty of cupboards, reasonable size fridge. Tows well. Only drawback we have is the taps for the handbasin/shower - they are very close to the wall and hard to get at to turn on and off. Brenda.

Only thing we did not like about our Coromal was the sliding windows -they may have changed in newer models. I really prefer wind-outs as they can be left open in the rain. Also I reckon you get better air flow for summer with wind-outs because with sliders only half the window opens.

Have a coromal 5011 2007 model
very happy with it and yes it has windout windows
Only thing I didnt like which i changed was the town water inlet being at the front of the van where as most parks taps are at the rear
Used 6 mtrs of hose just to get to the back of the van so i did some replumbing
Now have a tap at the front and inlet at the rear

Thank you Brenda and Alan, villatranquilla and Snapper, that is good to know.

We have met 2 people with fairly new Coromals who both have problems with the front window leaking. I wonder if this is common?

Our Coromal Lifestyle is 4 this August & still not been able to stop front window leaking. Took venitians out & made curtains & wish we had chosen 4 seasons instead of the clear perspex hatch. Now we have all the bugs out very happy with the van.

Welcome Oma, and thanks for your feedback. The Coromal certainly looked good, but .... water getting in could be a big worry.
Its nice to be able to look around without that sense of desperation we had before we bought the Jayco. It will do for now.

Hi Oma, Welcome to GN's forum.

I too am not happy with the clear hatch(slight tint) in the centre of our van.

WhatI did was buy some very dark tinting film from super cheep an then had 3 go's at getting it up there(never done this before)

Now I can open the blind and the light coming in is very subdued and does not bother us anymore.

cost me $40 all up and I still have some left over.

you might consider that as a way to go.
