Townsville QLD 27/7/16. Looks like winter is over here. Mmmm, did it ever start really?

Warm days and even the nights are warming up. Hot in the sun. 28c expected today. Better than cold though.

West MacDonnell Ranges today, finally broke out the shorts and t-shirts, but the nights are still a bit crisp

Back in Alice, definitely shorts and Ts today, thongs as an extra. What happened to winter. A few days ago, we had negative 2 and frosts.

I was up there in April/May.....Sure wish I had kept driving North instead of coming back,

Is it really winter in Brisbane?

Beautiful sunny days and blue skies, with not a cloud in site. Typical Queensland winter weather.

Why aren't you up here enjoying our winter/summer.

But now having said that we are about to embark on  a 6 month trip south.

I know .........we must be crazy to leave this beaut weather behind.

Saturday night strolling along the 'Strand' here in downtown Townsville QLD it is just magnificent really. Around 23c, light breeze off the water and heaps of people doing the same. Well lit and safe. Some nice chicken and salad followed by the best Gelato ever, for dinner, on a bench seat. What more do you want in life.

Townsville, still mid 20's during the day but very early mornings are a little chilly around 11c as we speak but that will improve in a couple of days. Good for sleeping under a light doona. No complaints from me.

Level 3 water restriction come in force Monday 8th so keep an eye on that water usage.

As I say chilly in the hills, but my car nice and warm. I don't think rain is forecast thou the drizzle is up there.

Have good Father's Day.

Just returned from N.S.W. and South QLD. outback, freezing at night cool days, but enjoyed it

immensely. Stayed at a great caravan park at Charliville called Bush Caravan Park, no dogs or smokers

allowed, (sorry smokers ) entertainment, free Damper, cooked over the fire most nights, and nice amenities.

$30-00 per night with a free night if you stay a week. BTW. if you stay at Charliville don't miss the Bilby presentation

at the railway station it's well worth seeing and learning how lucky they were to have survived the slaughter

from feral animals.

We did the plane flight to Lake Eyre with a stop at Birdsville both ways, the pub is an eye opener, and it seems

there are big things happening for Birdsville for the future. The Channel country was amazing and Lake Eyre had

water in it which looked amazing from the air.

Regards to all Grey Nomads.

Carole
