Getting into hot water!

600 k north of Sydney, Moree is the place to sit in the hot artesian water and easy away the aches.

Best place to stay is the Gwyder Caravan Park, 3k south of town which has four clean pools, free for resident use.  A good place to go to decide where to go next!

Sounds great Brian. I hope to get out there one day. We have just been enjoying the joys of artesian spas, as well. We hauled the van up the Birdsville Track (no dramas at all) and camped at a couple of beaut spots with spas. Our favourite was Claytons camping spot which is about 60 kms in from the southern end. The nearby station owner has supplied a spa and hot showers and a place to camp all totally free of charge. Fantastic! Like you, we enjoyed whiling away the hours in the warm water, contemplating our next move and enjoying some great company. We are in Longreach at the moment. The days are beautiful but nights still pretty cool. I reckon we'll keep on heading north for a while. Which way have you decided to head?

Welcome to the forum Brian,

Perhaps you may consider it worthwhile to put a note in the "Recommendations" Forum under the sub forum "Caravan Parks".   Click on http://thegreynomads.activeboard.com/f527151/caravan-parks/ it will take you straight there.

if you do, mention the town or the park in the title for future reference so others can find it.

cheers,

Jim

The original posts here are 7 years old, so Brian probably won't be back wink

The Pilliga Bore hot baths as well as Burren Junction are both free artesian spots for a few days. Boomi is another spot but one we have not been to so far.
