Recent Caravan Park Stays

The following are my views only.

Brigadoon Caravan & Holiday Park
(Pet Friendly)

North Haven NSW 2442

www.brigadoonholidaypark.com.au/

This park has most of the things that you expect from a holiday park, checkout their link above to see what they have for you.

The amenities at the park are well kept, the inner park has slab sites but appear to be smaller than the ones in the grassed area close to the river bank and tennis courts. The park is very popular with younger families and campers (tents). Out door movies are held 4 times a week weather permitting.

The shopping areas of North Have & Laurieton are a short walk away (15 mins at average pace). Coles and Woolworths are at Laurieton however you would have to either stop at Woolies on the way in or get a cab there as it is too far to walk.

The North Haven Bowling Club has a curtisey bus that operates between 4pm and 9pm 7 days a week. the meals at the club for dinner are a bit expensive mains start at $12.50 however they do have lunch time special for $6. They also have Bingo 3 times a week, monday & wednesday mornings at 10.30am and thursday night at 7.30pm.

The fishing and waterways are good, we caught flathead, bream, taylor, whitting, flounder, butter fish and the biggest toad fish that you would ever see (about 2 to 3 kg). The water channels are clearly marked and there is plenty of boat ramps outside the park.

Park fees are $40 a night (peak season), $3 washing machine, $1 bbq. Down side no grey water drains, no designated dump point (or not in our area).

The local bus (Busways) stops just outside the park, if you have a conssesion card it will cost you $2.50 for an all day pass (that will get you to Port Macquarie etc), kids fares are $6.70 return and adults are $13.40 return, it is a great way to checkout the local surounds and save having to pack up the M/H when you want to have a look around.

Would we stay here again YES but not at Christmas or Easter.

The following are my views only.

Solitary Island Marine Park Resort Wooli NSW

This is a very good park for campers (tents), all the sites are large compared to some other CP's. There is a pub, butcher and mini supermarket just outside the park (like 50 meter walk). Boat ramp is good for all size boats. Both amenities blocks are well maintained however the the ones at the back of the camp kitchen are mixed ladies and gents use the same showers and loo (5 of each). The other amenities block near the permanent sites are better in my opinion, mens and ladies showers and toilets are separated about six of each in each section. The camp kitchen is very new and the largest one that I have seen in our travels.

The fishing has been so so plenty of throw backs, the Wooli River is very shallow even at high tide so great care must be taken at all time, make sure that you have all the saftey gear on board as the Maritime Officer is regulary on the water ways checking everyone out.

Great park for younger familes with tents.

There does not appear to be too many slab sites, so this place could be a night mare in the rain, no grey water drains.

Great park for motorhomers just to chill out and charge up the batteries and fill up the water tanks.

BBQ"s cost $1, Washing Machines $4, Bagged Ice $3

Next report will be from North Haven at the end of this week.

Hi Alan

It might be easier for members to read topic header by area and postcode ? rather than recent park stays
