I don't get it. The old BOM website worked so well. Now replaced with a complete useless design.

I agree. People these days change things just so its different not necessarily better and call it progress to justify it.

I use Willi Weather on the Mobile Phone and Weatherzone on the Laptop. Both work great and give good details. On occasions I'll take a peek at BOM but not often.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Willy Weather is BOM data based.

I think it's fine it may take a little practice but all is good. I'm pretty sure that every Australian based weather service will be using BOM.

Whatever you do, don't mention the BoM on a plane.
I had a look at that BOM website.
Very ordinary.
One look, no return.
I find Elders weather OK......
An English firm took over one of my long term Australian software providers application I have used for years for work.
It has been a hellish experience since.
Have wound back operations heaps but still frustrated with the little time I use that application now.
The most useless user unfriendly website in the history of man.
Makes you really wonder sometimes.......

Found the old website:
http://reg.bom.gov.au/index.php
The page I mostly used:
https://reg.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/sydney.shtml
& the recent few days data which was simple:
Latest Weather Observations for Sydney - Observatory Hill
WTF - Why do they have to F**k around with something that worked well?
About time for a new broom methinks.

They have removed the black colour on radar we now don't know if and where hail is falling.
The weather gods didn't miss that omission as they sent hail to Qld first day of new mapping

I had another look at the new BOM website. It is dreadful. I could see whole blocks of information on my phone on the old site. Now you have to scroll & click forever.
It is useless, childish, a dog's breakfast, wastes people's time.
The following is my feedback to BOM a few days ago:
'Where is the old website which simply worked. This is utter rubbish. The genius who came up with this should be hung drawn and quartered.'
Actually I should have been more blunt!

Nope.........I think that will do it.
Golf Australia recently changed their website also.
It has gone from "good and workable" to "bl**dy awful".
Really makes you wonder why, when a website works fine they alter it??
I think it is to keep website designers getting a wage.
A wage they should be made hand back in many instances!!!!

As with a lot of other apps, when they changed the mapping information on Google Maps (more advertising more money) the zoom in/out changed everything. Wikicamps (if anyone still looks at this) had the same issue. You had to drill down often a long way to find a camp. At that point, you then lost your orientation. You then drilled out and lost the camp. You couldn't get both on the same page.
They need to change or invent a map without all the paid advertising. A basic map with just town names and roads is needed. Maybe rivers and lakes and landmarks. I really don't want to know where the next winery is. Let them put out an app for that for those that are interested.

I just checked my ever reliable Elders weather at other locations for my week of vets golf next week.
Also flicked into "Flemington Vic" to see what was coming in the lead up to the Melbourne Cup.
Wet, wet and thunderstorm on the day possibly.
I have been backing Buckaroo in early markets leading up to the Cup and pairing him in doubles in the lead up successfully so far.
(Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate winners into Buckaroo doubles).
Just checked his wet track form, it is fairly good with a heavy track win in Ireland some time back.
Hope the Buckaroo can salute next week is my tip.
Will have to get the nose in the form guide though to find a mud lark down at the weights that could reel them all in at big odds.
That is, provided the weather web sites are accurate !!!!
Not looking good for the high heels in the Birdcage though........
