Sometime ago, about three years, I bought two el cheapo battery razors from Kmart for $29ea. One for the van and one for home. The one at home finally gave up the ghost today. Looked on their website and are now $27. They have given good service for the price.
Just sayin.

G'day Phil,
I would waste my money buying something like that. I have a light beard In fact, I have had it since I was 20. A mate and I were heading from Melbourne to Harvey Bay in QLD for a couple of months and we had a bet who could grow the best beard in that time. He gave up after three weeks and I kept going, so wone the bet and never shaved it off. I did trim it down though to what it is now and keep the neck clean. That was the only thing that annoyed me and still does. I have thought about shaving it off a couple of times but chicken out.
I gather by your comment that the razors are cheaper now, you got a couple of newbies?
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Yep, as you well know Doug, it's a throwaway world mate. They do give a reasonable shave though. I just thought I would put it out there for anyone who thinks the way that I do!!! I bought a couple of them and, at my age, I reckon they will see me out the door. I tried a few times to let the face hair grow but each time SWMBO nagged me to shave so, on the basis of happy wife, happy life, I surrendered!
Have a good day Doug and take care of yourself.

Got one last week reduced to $19. For the price, it seems to do a reasonable job

I bought another cheap AAA Gillette battery razor recently (on special) simply due to the razor handle is thicker, much nicer to hold, I don't actually use the battery aspect, but leave the battery in there for better centre of balance. My old AAA had too many cable ties holding it together after 20 years. Need it around back of neck.
I do have about a 20mm beard, probably started due to laziness many decades ago.
I did have a Braun electric razor but it had issues getting a number of hairs which grew out almost parallel to skin surface.

SWMBO was the opposite, she liked the texture (better not elaborate), WWOTA (who was one to argue!)

I bought a $39 Air Fryer last year from KMart. Just to try one out without out it creating another white elephant if I didn't like it. Also to see how long it lasted.
I figured that I could replace it about three times before it would have been better to have purchased a more expensive one.
After a year, still going strong no problems. Works well. Bit small, and that would be the only reason I might swap it for a larger one.
