G'day patmc49,
First of all, you live in a nice town, and I tell you that for free. When I was going to Townsville every year to visit family I always stayed at the rest spot behind shops (and always left a donation) the night before arriving in Townsville and the first night after leaving Townsville a few months later. I always had a nice meal at what I call the middle pub.
Now, down to business. There used to be a caravan place on Ingham Road opposite the RAAF base. Not sure if still there though. May I suggest you pop a PM to Warren and Pat, on this forum. They live in Townsville and have a van so would know where to go. They are both really nice people.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Look up Nomad caravan repairs. Did a good job on ours.

I would look for a "canvas converter" or similar.
It is unlikely that a "caravan repairer" will have suitable sewing machines.
Cheers,
Peter

Hi patmc49,
I guess this is a bit late but Allshade Canvas & Vinyl replaced the vinyl on our awning. They are at Mt Louisa, phone number is 0403 579 969
I wouldn't recommend Beehive Vinyl Products - they did an awful job on our Eagle camper!!
