As age creeps up on the bride she finds that she gets good relief to
leg swelling, foot pain, leg and foot cramps from a small heated foot
boot, that unfortunately is not up to too much usage.
Hours of driving or sitting in the confines of the van are becoming
a problem. She can't jog with me - even a bit of a walk is avoided if
possible.
Who can sincerely recommend a unit that does the job, please.

Look for heated motorcycle boots not cheap, but they bloody work.

35 years as a Clubbie - had boots of course - all they do is cause cramps and tiredness.
Can't see how they could ever help.

Decided to buy a massager from Global Direct (against my better instincts).
After the money was cleared - delivery time 30-50 days !!
Be warned.

Things are getting harder to find. Hope my old car and MH don't blow up out bush. Probably be a case of walk away and leave it. As for foot massages? Try a bit of easing into walking. You know five steps for a week then ten etc. Rest with feet higher than the heart. Ankle wriggling. For the cold wear warm socks. Try Epson salts soaks. That helped me.

Whilst not directly related to the question that you pose, I find that massaging fisiocream into my feet works wonders at night. Works well for leg muscles as well and doesn't smell that bad in fact the wife likes the smell of it. I also take a magnesium pill daily as I find this helps with the "twitchy feet" syndrome that occurs at night and drives the wife nuts!! I have tried many massage machines and never found one that was worth the money I paid for it and they only really work while you are using them. Hot water baths at night are also very good for boosting circulation. I also find that regular stops whilst driving (say about ever 100 -150 ks) for walking to stretch legs helps to keep the blood moving.
