We have an issue with the cover when fully open it allows too much heat/light in, my partner prefers the opening to about a third op which needs something to restrict the amount the cover opens (currently use an occy strap),
So what's the solution ?, a different length gas strut if so how do decide the location and angle for the strut.
Is there another alternative

I thought all Jayco vans have these for boot and window protector.
They come in different lengths depending on the size of the protector.
Mine, for instance, are 300mm (extend to 600mm).
They are cheap to buy, usually come in pairs and effectively adjust 0-100%.

The earlier model, Jayco Westport, use a pair of brackets/arms with sliders that have locking screws to fix the cover in position.
Could be purchased from Jayco & easily fitted.
