Don't start me.
Just had family visit from overseas and one spent more time scrolling on their mobile than they do "visiting".
Mobile phones are in many ways a curse of our times.

On New Years day, the better half and I went to lunch at a restaurant in a nearby town, while the meal, service etc were excellent, there were two events that stuck with me.
The first a group of 6 x 20 - 25 YO girls sat at a nearby table and immediately, all had their phones in their hands as soon as they sat down. What surprised me was as one, they all popped their phones in their handbags and talked, laughed and talked some more. I very nearly turned to them and said "well done ladies" but the wife wouldn't let me.
The second was two women, one possibly 40ish, the other somewhere between 15 and 20, she placed her phone down on the table face down as they sat. However for the next hour, she picked up the phone and looked at it about every 15 seconds, but not seeming to action anything on the phone. Her dining partner, was clearly getting upset/angry about it after at 20 mins.
Fortunately not all are addicted to their phones, but I suspect it is only going to get even worse.

Get worse?
My new hearing aids are paired with my iPhone so that I can use the app to adjust them.
Of course, when I get incoming messages they are automatically converted to a low level voice messages in my hearing aids.
I can also use the hearing aid receiver & microphone to carry out phone calls by first pressing the button on them to accept an incoming call.
Doing this, I can wander around the shopping centres seemingly talking to myself, like so many of the young people & tradies!
