I fitted actuators to my poptop but attached it to the mountings for the manufacturer supplied handles/lifting points as I figured that they were strong enough to take the force.
Applying it to a point that has no reinforcing may cause damage to the roof. Mounting at the cupboard end may be ok but what about the roof.
Do a search as i remember a few years back someone did it with pieces of heavy wall plastic pipe that could be fitted to the lifting handle at each end.

My mounting won't work as I built my poptop from scratch so it has lifting points in the middle on each side.
Did you do a search on the forum here or caravanners to find the post about the portable one the bloke made to fit the end lifters in many poptops? It was basically a couple of bits of plastic pressure pipe (it has thicker walls and is very stiff) with the electric lifter in the middle and a lead to plug into a fag socket, he lifted one end first and then the other. It just pushed on the floor and the arm that you used to manually lift it. The bottom end had a flat wooden ply foot and the top had a U cutout in the end of the tube to slide over the liftinga arm.
It apparently worked well and just pulled apart to fit in an underseat bin when not in use.
Lifting poptop
We have 2018 seka poptop and am looking at maybe using a linear actuator to lift one end, thinking the shower/toilet end.
Is there a particular spot in the roof, I could line it up
And not sure about this, could I use the bench top corner to lift from?
