Hi all. As I had difficulty finding any useful information on the internet pertaining to running a domestic fridge on an inverter I thought I would post some. I just completed removing my 180 litre 12v fridge as it was making an annoying high pitch whine on and off. I had it looked at, but on the day, it wouldn't replicate the noise. Also the temp control was all over the place. I fitted a Hisense Inverter 205 litre HRTF206, cost about $370 on special, regular price $445. It was about 20mm wider and the same height. I had to remove the rear wheels and make a couple of brackets for the front, LH side 25mm box and RH side 20mm as the hinge bracket is about 5mm thick. I recorded a high current of 160W at the fridge which I think was a defrost heating cycle. Normal running current was around 60W but falls off to 32 watts. I recorded a continuous run for 24hrs and it used 46.725AH. This was 1.92AH per hour on average. The 12V Fridge used an average 3.5AH per hour in comparison. This was running off a Victron 12/250 Inverter. The standby power use was 9W. I added a Noctua 800 RPM fan to the end of Inverter which continuously runs at less than 1W. This has stopped the Inverter internal fan cutting in and out so far which is quite noisy. The total overnight usage was 23.5AH from 6PM to 6AM. Night time temp dropped to 16C and daytime was 21C. Daytime cycle time was about 50/50 but at night that dropped as low as 10 mins compressing and 40 mins on standby. Quite impressed so far but yet to test in the field. Hope this may be of some use to someone.

I think all of us out here with 3 way fridge just became a little jealous - smart way to move.

Update; the standard mid settings on the fridge and freezer weren't low enough on the freezer at -11c. I changed the fridge to 6 and freezer to 7 and fridge temps are now 1.6 to 2.8c. Freezer compartment is -19c. Power use is up on a 13hour overnight run to 30AH at the shunt including inverter loss. I also installed two Noctua 140mm 1200RPM NF-A14 FLX fans at the back of the fridge. One points down drawing lower vent air in and is pointed at the compressor. The other is drawing hot air out in the top vent. Both are run off a thermo control unit set to come on at 27c with a 2 degree offset.
