I am in a real bind (literally when you see the wiring in my van). I would like to know what each colour is on the back of my fridge and what they. I have also traced the wires that come out of the floor near the battery box. Are these wires supposed to be spiced?. It all looks dodgy.
any help would really be appreciated before the mrs and I hit the road.
G'day Mick, As your Evernew is 21 years old the wiring may have been altered from the original layout - You would be better off getting a qualified Auto Electrician with experience in
3-way fridges sort out any uncertainties.

What brand of fridge?
If Dometic, download manual for the three way fridge
The wiring diagram for the fridge gives the wire colour internally for the fridge
But wire colour going to the fridge is a different matter

From the pics it is a compressor fridge. Probably fitted after market as I don't think Evernew fitted them standard.
Can you tell if the fridge is a 240v domestic fridge or a 12v caravan fridge.
Either way a fairly large capacity battery is required to run it if not just travelling between caravan parks.

Hi Mick, nothing wrong with splicing wiring to extend lengths. It appears that the fridge may have been replaced therefore, the splicing of the wiring. Use a multimeter to check the wiring voltages and their source. Looks like decent gauge wiring. If the fridge is now a 12V compressor type then solar would be of assistance for the battery, but you may already have solar and not mentioned. The splicing seems ok from the pics.
