This really annoyed me and I don't even tow a caravan. lol. To me it is another excuse for the bashing of baby boomers. This attitude is getting out of hand.
Hidden in the text it also talks about the younger generation, but it was mostly about the retiring baby boomers.
If they change the licencing of towing, (and I don't think its as bad as they make out) it has got to apply to all drivers.
I am sick and tired of the discrimination and assumptions made just because the older generation has grey hair and a few wrinkles.

Ho Hum.
When I learnt to drive and got my licence 40 or so years ago, it was minimum 6 calendar weeks between when you got your learners and when you could go for your Provisional licence. The number of hours you spent behind the wheel during that 6 weeks was not considered relevant. These days its a minimum of 120 hours accompanied driving plus numerous tests plus stricter rules plus lower limits (in some states) plus....plus...plus... Has the standard of driving improved as a result of the extra "training" and restrictions? I certainly have no doubts that the standard is worse now than its ever been and getting worse every day.
In my opinion the problem is attitude. Something that having an extra accreditation stamped on your licence isn't going to fix and in fact may (again my opinion) well make the problem worse.

Brings back memories of having to get a boat licence. All these years and still have never seen water police, licence checked, safety equipment checked or breath tested, except show me the money every 5 years.

Absolutely ridiculous to discuss anything seen on Yahoo.

I'm done. No more. We will just have to let this forum die. Don't know why Cindy lets it keep going

What are you going on about msg. Everyone takes what interests them from multi topic articles like that one mentioned. For me it's the pointless extra licence mentioned and how l already have one of those. You do not get to decide what others post within the rules of the forum.

Creditability in that story is as low as you can, 2 people carrying 2 dogs though national parks and then complaining about other people behaviour.

Msg, admin will never close the GN whilst the advertising keeps going. It's a business model run on business lines. The commercial aspect is possibly the reason that it is still functioning.

Since getting our own boat in about 2009, I have seen water police often and been stopped a few times. In QLD, licence checked at least a couple of times, safety gear checked a couple of times, and once breath tested on the Tweed River in NSW.

Sorry Radar, but where does it mention they have their dogs in National Parks?
As far as I know, the Tip isnt a NP, and you are allowed to drive through NPs with dogs as long as you dont let them out. I saw no other mention of NPs in the story.
That said, I have seen some ordinary behaviour from Gray Nomads, but certainly no more than from other age groups. My opinion is that bad mannered Grey Nomads were probably bad mannered younger people, and age has nothing to do with it.
I guess it was a space filler for the media at least.

By my old trustee HEMA 1994 map. The northern tip of Queensland is in the Jardine National Park.
No domestic pets welcome in Queensland National Parks with exception of seeing eye dogs. Not even to be transported though, no ifs or butts.
Not written but there is a photo of 2 dogs at sign. That's got to be worth a thousand words.

From my understanding the tip is not in the Jardine National Park and the road from the ferry to the tip runs to west of the park. You may travel through a national park on a gazetted road with a pet in the car.

There you go, we may need more clarification on this, do we have any ex Queensland National Parks head office workers on this Forum.
I am away from my regular office.
