Strange indeed are the things that generate Nomads

I am now in the late stages of commencing Nomadding. I fiid it strange to recall the thing that led me to where I am right now.
I sail 1 metre model yachts with a bunch ofsimilarly old cronies. On one occasion I asked one of the guys " What are you up to these days."
His reply really shocked me. " Just sitting around waiting to die" What a horrible way to feel and a sad reflection on the future.
It really got me thinking cause I have always felt life is for living each day as if it was the last. Thought processes started taking root. My catchphrase is " I still have one great adventure left in me."
We are all "Prisoners of our posessions" We dont do stuff because it means abandoning our goodies. To hell with that scenario. I decided to get rid of everything non essential (I rent so the house is not an issue)
So, thats all under way. I sold my hatchback and purchased an Isuzu MU-X (Tow cap 3 tonne). I then located a Majestic Sierra 20ft caravan and bought it. Im busy setting it up to "Rock & Roll".
Sort of planning to set off around 2 weeks from now. Destination unknown and unimportant. Just go, live the dream.
I have been living solo with my best mate/dog Ginger for about 10 years or so and I love it. I am happy in my own company and always remain busy "as a one armed paper hanger"
Experience towing a van Zero ( Towed plenty of boats)
Experience living the van life. Zero (Had an onsite van for a few years)
So as A vigorous 79 year old I can really claim Virgin status.
I have absolutely no doubts that this will be an amazing adventure. New people. Beautiful places. Devoid of the trappings that anchor us to one spot.
This is my first post on here (a virginso to speak) mainly contrived as an expression of my real feelings to see if it sounded exciting or the ravings of a madman. Then again "Who cares"
Really enjoying the GN forum . Think ill go with the nickname SILVER SARASEN. What do yall think ??
Welcome and good for you mate , you will have a blast. You will meet a lot of nice people.
Be careful towing the van and take your time and things will turn out fine.
Cheers.

I couldn't agree more. As they say, "The world is my oyster". Dunno why they say that as I'm not a fan of oysters.

Latest update
The Planned experience of " living the dream" has not quite turned out as expectedtma.
3 months in and absolutely loving it
Seen some beautiful places, met some exceptional people, more chilled out than i have ever been.
Can someone explain why hospitals feature so highly please ?
I am a fit old guy who is normally quite healthy.
Past 3 months I have been to
Not complaining mind you, ive met a lot of dedicated people. Just cant understand it because it is sooo unusual.
Since all that rubbish is out of the way, I can get on with the adventure again.
Thought I might stick around Bundy for a while. Love bagara and next stop is aptly named Platypus park riverside retreat just south of Bundy. Maybe stay a month.
So if you are around Bundy in the next month or so, lets catch up for a "Good" coffee
More shortly.

Look at your post, you ask ask the question"Why hospitals feature so highly please?"
I see you have already answered your own question.
Quote " Past 3 months I have been to" 3 hospitals.
Normally I am a fit old guy to,like you we don't plan trips around hospitals.
But some people seem to worry about falling ill,and it restricts where they travel.
But being 82 and 80 yrs.,who cares.WE go where we like, when we like.
Safe travels.

Dr Google says your increased hospital visits is down to dangerously low alcohol levels, remedial action is therefore urged...:)

Ive been recommended to take regular doses of "Snake Serum" It comes in a square bottle with a red label to fool the non believers. Must be taken with ice in a crystal tumbler for some reason.
Works for me

As you should now, Bundaberg is spot where some nice serum is manufactured. Enjoy your travels.
North of Bargara along the coast to 1770 is nice too.

The fix maybe the problem as alcohol can worsen UTI's so maybe some Ural before bed to cleanse your bladder. Having just had same problem I have started using it a night, Ural has gone up in price & smaller packets from 28 to 20 sachets a box.
A search reveals a supplement called D-Mannose may do the same thing as Ural (cleanse the bladder). Good luck.
