I think Bobdown's response may have been a suggestion to explain why you are thinking of it, what you want to know, and if looking to see if it is suitable for towing a van, some specifics of what you want to tow.

600 n.m. should tow everything.

As Stephen has suggested, it is difficult to give a useful answer unless we know what Mark plans to do with his purchase.
If he plans to have the best looking ute in his street, the Ranger certainly is a contender
However, if he has any intentions of trying to tow 3500kg with that car, FORGET IT if the trailer is a PIG trailer. (Caravan)
More information would let members know what exactly the OP would like advice on.Cheers
P.S Working long hours so haven't yet studied claimed tow capacities etc.

I wonder the durability of AWD V 6 10 speed auto towing considering its a triple overdrive gearbox where 7th gear is 1:1

I thought the new Rsnger's ten speed gear box was based on the transmission from the Amarok. I could be wrong though.
You may get some indication of longevity issues by checking on information regarding past Amarok transmission issues.

The 10 speed transmissions have been around in US model Fords for quite a while. The F-series pickups and Mustangs here also have 10 speed autos. The Amarok is just a re-badged Ranger.

Sorry Guys had technical problems with my tablet just received it back from repairs. My new van specifications are ball 136kg,payload 1024,tare 2476, ATM 3300 max ATM 3500kg,.Currently using WDH with my BT50 almost same specifications as new van. Advice needed do I do a gvm pre reg or can you add another leaf to springs, air bags I do realise depends on what weight being added. Any feedback on Ford Ranger will be 2024 Feb/March,dual cab tub no canopy. Merry Xmas and all the best for the new year.

Hi Mark, Great to see you back. First up, let me say I'd be very surprised, astounded even, if your new van was able to carry 1024kg as a payload. Next, the claimed ball weight means absolutely nothing, as does the claimed tare weight. Thirdly, ATM of 3200kg is about max for this car.
Now for good stuff. Car has GCM of 6400kg, which is a lot better than previous models, and more importantly, the rear axle now has a carrying capacity of 1959kg, greater than the much-adored, but over rated, LC200.
Furthermore, your car has a good wheelbase, at 3270mm, so inherently more stable (read 'safer') than some others.
GVM is 3280kg, but you'll never get there because of weight removed from the front axle by towball weight, but if you get to say 3150kg you safely can tow a van with an ATM up to about 3200kg, bearing in mind that if safety is of any concern, always the weight on the wheels of the car MUST be at least 10% greater than the weight on the wheels of any van it is towing as a PIG trailer.
The suggested figure is given assuming you're using the generally accepted 10% towball weight, or 320kg in this case.
Tow capacity ratings are a con-job, but people with a vested interest will never explain them, even if they know, which is unlikely..
Be aware that a GVM upgrade and "adding another leaf to springs, airbags etc" are two TOTALLY different things.
Airbags and extra springs do not increase carrying capacity, or even axle capacity.
And it is "unwise" to put airbags in a car if it has leafsprings.
Don't have a lot of spare time today, but this will give you an idea of what you're faced with.
New Ranger looks like a good car, but don't be sweet-talked or conned into believing that it can safely tow much more than about 3200kg as a PIG trailer. (Caravan) It can't. Cheers

Thanks Bob, Trying to do too many things at once! Now fixed. There is a lot more that I can help Mark with, but I will wait until he has had a look at these figures.
Marketing these little twin-cabs and SUVs as capable of safely towing 3500kg as a PIG trailer should be illegal, as it simply is not possible, no matter how many stories we hear of "Done a million kilometres Mate. Not a problem Mate. Just gotta drive to the conditions Mate".
Such an "achievement" is more a result of good luck than it is of good manahement. Have a great Xmas. Cheers
