What gives you the right to query Paul on his reasons for submitting the many jokes and articles of interest that he posts?
Nunya Biz, and all harmless fun, but I seem to remember that Paul was involved in a serious accident some years ago, and now is limited in his ability to undertake certain physical activities.
Posting jokes etc could well be what he does to keep his brain active, although it does seem that others are content to exist with a semi-active brain.
Keep up the good work Paul. Cheers

It is not the actual question that is of concern, more the accusitory way in which it was asked.
Sorry if I ruffled your feathers, but a more friendly approach to Paul might have helped you to get the answers you seek, if indeed that was your intention.

My dad was an Ambo. God bless all Ambos and Paras, I could never do what they do.

Our opposite family members ( d-i-l's parents ) are both ambo volunteers locally
He has over 50 years service, she has nearly 40 yrs.
They have both responded at different times to our own family emergencies.
Outstanding community minded folk.

Once again we have Basher doing what he does best, bashing other members. If you are not happy Basher with what is posted on here, there is an alternative so why don't you take it?

Well I've had the opposite experience with these guys. I was volunteering for Centacare when I went around the clients
place for pickup to a medical appointment. Cut a long story short, he was in a bad way. I am only the driver with basic
first aid as required and the job did not entail giving care. Organised for an ambulance. I was on the phone for at least
10 mins getting the third degree. Three times the operator asked me if the patient was alive.
Finally they agreed to dispatch and ambulance. This took nearly 1/2 hr. I waited for them in one of the main access roads
as this was a gated community. They arrived, I pointed to them the dwelling and they went in. Another ten minutes
went by when one of them came out to get some gear out of the ambulance. This person also informed me that the
ambulance was not moving and I would have to wait until they were finished.
No courtesy.
No acknowledgement of my calling them.
No recognition that I was only the driver and not equipped to deal with the situation.
I could've just walked away when no one answered the door and left the client to whatever.
So this is one of many that most don't see. Some are basic such as blocking the driveway
at the hospitals where you drop off and pickup.

They are great, other half recently got an ambulance from Royal North Shore Hospital to Royal North Shore Hospital, quicker than the rabbit warren maze through the building's 9 level 600 bed layout & many buildings, which I am relatively familiar with. I even helped get her on the ambulance stretcher.
One of RNSH fully automated robot systems (personally I think it should be painted orange & have a "sand flag" at eye level. We have a flag for the car), but it was well behaved with numerous audio warnings of its presence, just a bit of environmental physical signalling would improve trip hazards.

I think the vast majority of Ambos are nice people who do a great job. Likewise, I think the majority of people in a wide range of employment are nice people who do a great job. I don't think that just because it is an occupation that has first response to emergency medical treatment then elevates them to some god like status. In my time I have met some really callous and rude personnel who may well have been having a bad day or were traumatised, but they are just human like the rest of us.
It's a bit like saying that everyone in the military is there solely to keep our nation safe or every police officer is there to prevent crime and keep us all safe when we all know that is not necessarily the case in relation to each and every one of them.

I respect all people in all occupations until they disrespect others, but as said they are merely a cross section of society just look around you and that's what you get.
