It should work and if it does so at home then that suggests a problem with the inverter. Perhaps it is not a real sine wave one after all and the frother is sensitive to modified sine wave supply. What inverter do you have?
If the coffee pod machine works that seems to eliminate the other possibility I was going to suggest ... a low battery charge or cabling too thin. I assume you are not trying to run them both at the same time ...?

I hope you disconnected the 12 volts before fiddling around on the 240 volt side.

Question for all the techies out there need a bit of advice
With a 2000 watt pure sine invertor why doesn't my 500 watt coffee frother work ?
Coffee pod machine no issues
Microwave no issue
The light doesn't even come on this thing ?
Works fine at home
just taken off the interior powerpoint and found out the wire had come loose DUH !!
