The whole thing of royalty, kings, queens, princes, princess and the class system of England in general is a thing that was thought up 1000 years ago.
It has no meaning or sense of purpose in a modern world. The cost to the English taxpayer must be enormous...better spent on welfare, hospitals, housing etc. They are not much more than fodder for tabloid papers and trashy magazines.
As soon as we become a republic, the better. People argue we need a Govenor General in case we have a bad goverment...well surely we can come up with a system that can cover that if the need arises.
Bring on the Republic of Australia!!!!
