Hello, I need to replace my 12v 2d fluro ceiling lights, they were very effective and sufficiently bright. I am temporarily using two led patches in one light, but being flat they are very directional, I see the available led replacements are also flat, so I am seeking experience, do they light the room, van up like the old fluro tubes?
Option is 960 lumen from home of 12 volt.
Thanks. Sarge.

Arri do proper lighting from spot lights to area lights with excellent CRI (colour rendering index). I have a few, not cheap, but very good.

Just replaced all my internal lights with leds bought them from BIAS boating in Logan City in Brisbane.
Completely leaves the old fluorescent for dead

darjak, thanks for the reply, I am hoping for the same result, $40 odd for an LED $15 for a fluro, just wanted to be sure.

Hi Sarge,
Do you have a photo of your lights and a link to the lights you are thinking of installing so we can get an idea of what you are looking at. There so many options out there and fittings spread the light reasonably well. I have some big lights in my van and consider that there could have been less installed as it is so bright if I turned them all on.

Tim Tim, the van only has two of these on the ceiling, I believe they are 12v 16w 2d fluro. There are a few Led options for replacement but I am suspicious of the cheapies. Being single directional and less bright. I have tried that with my quick fix.

Bloody hell, that is a biggy, thought that was cancelled.
Anyway, this is my replacement option.

Hi Sarge9,
Ok they seem similar to the ones I have in my van. They provide a heap of light that is well dispersed.
As for the brightness of LEDs the chips have different numbers so if you can provide a link to the ones you are looking at I can take a look at them. You want lights with at least 5050 chips or 5630. A couple of links to explain the different LED chips.
Ebay is not always the cheapest as there are many sellers that put things on which are a higher price than buying online at other places but they know that people will come looking there thinking it is cheaper. What prices have you found?
I have found the same one that you have posted and they have bright chips. That is a good option.
Working on my van at the moment and may be able to post some pics tonight or tomorrow showing how bright they are but I can tell you they are bright and I probably have too many in my van.
I am thinking to buy and try, as they all seem to be 900 lumens.... I see you link suggests the 2835 can be less power and equal light to the 5050 ones.....
At least I can go back to jaycar if they are crap.
