Two house in Marybinong " looted " yesterday, or Sunday night.
If the heading is a myth lets make it a reality.

All for it. Low life. It's also referred to as 'culling'.

If it was a reality, would you two be prepared to carry out the executions personally? Would you two be able to stroll up with a large shooter and just blow them away?

Maybe we should rely on the court system.
Or a 12 gauge double barrel with just one shot to each hand from close range.
I could bet what method would prevent any further problems with those perps.
Maybe the decision of punishment should be left to the victim. In that way when those are violated again then they have only themselves to blame.

No...no...you are wrong...wrong.
Ya just need a .22 in the back of their heads.
A freakin' big magnum hand cannon is " overkill " for this application.

Would any of you care to point to a country where capital punishment has reduced the crime rate.
Sentencing and punishment for wrongdoing is not predicated on revenge.

There is no factual evidence of that Mike. The ruling family stated it reduced the crime rate after criticism of their brutal regime but that is the only indication.
If you choose to research properly you will find it is not a deterrent. One of the reasons is that those that offend don't think they will be detected.

I use to live there Dmaxer and I assure you... it *is* a deterrent.
Visit Chop Chop square one Friday after mosque and then tell me it makes no difference.

So I guess there is no positions over there for a Clerk of the Court.

RE: We used to shoot looters.
These people are the scum of the earth. How anyone could stoop to this escapes me. I tend to agree with you Dmaxer most of the time!! but, as a supporter of capital punishment I can't agree on this topic. Some crimes are so heinous in their ferocity that, imho, the perpetrator does not have right to go on living. just as a paedophile once convicted should be made unable to have normal sexual relations ever again. Criminals see these soft sentences as well as law abiding folk.
They must have a laugh at some of these so-called punishments.
How many times have we seen a parolee commit further crimes, how many times have we seen people on bail do the same? We are too bloody soft on these offenders and it's about time someone did something about it. In the words of Gough Whitlam, it's time!!!!!!!

If the a*rse h*les get apprehended they'll show remorse, tell a tale about a difficult childhood & get off with a slap on the wrist.
I'd recommend chopping off their willy & let them watch as they bleed to death.

You're just another of those lilly-livered liberals who are soft on crime aren't you!?
[For the sake of Vince56 the above is satire]

When was it that we used to shoot looters ? Too many people are recalling a fantasy world and too many think might is right.

Those are my honest opinions, a little over the top, but I get tired of criminals getting off lightly as do many others.

Sorry Craig I can't agree with you on this one.
I think a jar of honey 4 wooden stakes and a large ants nest is far more appropriate.

Lany, that could be a good option, after I accidently shot him/her in the knee.
It is possibly a myth, Google not coughing up much except about an almost riot by Yanks in Brissie in WW2.

Back in the late 1700s everyone who stole over a certain amount of money was sentenced to death. My gggg grandfather was sentenced to death for stealing a single bank note for £20. Fortunately his sentence was commuted to life in New South Wales.

Would I be prepared to carry out the execution personally, in an absolute heartbeat Cobber.
And as for a deterrent, well you are probably right but, at least those low life's would never be able to commit that act again and (here's the biggy) THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO BREED EITHER..
