I have had an electric jack for approximately 5 years and have found them to be excellent. The chassis bracket on mine is larger than the standard jockey wheel clamp bracket so I welded on the new clamp on the opposite side of the A frame. The configuration of the gas etc. and hand brake wouldn't allow me to place it anywhere else.
I Also welded 2 beads either side of the clamp on the shaft so that is does not slip once secured in the clamp.
The clamp is wired for an Anderson plug that works from the van's 12 volt supply.
The jack is great if you happen to be on a slightly uneven surface as the jack will lift the your van off the tow ball without any effort. Great if you have a bad shoulder.
Our van is 27ft long (inc. draw bar) approx. 3.1 ton
Hope that helps

I have recently installed a Blackjack on my van. I also made and installed a wireless remote control so that I can operate it from the driver seat or elsewhere. My remote control also makes it easy to level the van (fore/aft) from within the van.
I have only used it a couple of times and it worked very well . The only comment I would make is that it is noisier than I had expected, but not excessively and it was only my expectation that it would be almost silent.
The rated current draw is 28A but when lifting my ~ 300kg ball weight it only draws about 12A, and less when lowering and assisted by gravity. The rated 28A probably only applies when lifting its rated max of 1600kg.
