Want to put 2 x 200ah lithium batteries in caravan do they need a lithium charger
So confused, also how much solar would I need to run for them

While I am in no way an expert on Solar for caravans, with 400ah Lithium I would put a minimum of 800 watts GOOD panels on the van, particularly in Tasmania. You no doubt will get much advice from people more knowledgeable than me, but GOOD panels must be used. Much of the stuff around is GARBAGE. My van has 1650 watts Suntech house panels and 540ah Victron Lithium. Do it once, do it well. Good luck. Cheers

Read up on how they are charged ? Seems they dont like trickle charge . Found in past having a good battery maintenance system saves big time !

Firstly what is the ACTUAL critical reason for lithium battery/s?
Personally I can only think of a single reason to go lithium in a caravan which can often be resolved other ways.
There is a wealth of information is you use the search function.
Charging lithium is a whole different ballgame, otherwise it will burn holes in all pockets with destroyed batteries.
So after you have read some threads on lithium then you probably will have a better understanding.
We can then help with suggestions for fine tuning for a good system,/network setup.
