The Tanami to Halls Creek, Boulia to Alice Springs and The Great Central Road, should be all sealed before billions of dollars is spent on capital cities roads.

Millions of daily city & suburban commuters may have a different opinion to that.

If you seal every road then people will be complaining about all the city riff-raff out there.
I have done about 5,000km on corrugated roads, I let tyres down accordingly & mostly not an issue. With 3 compressors in parallel 90PSI at 4.5CFM & air tank can pump up each of the tyres in 28 seconds then blow the dust off the car (wife anyway)!

I enjoy really country driving just like the rest of us travellers but the government has to please the majority of voters.
That means pleasing city folk.
10 vehicles per hour driving along a desert highway per hour VS 10,000 vehicles per hour driving along a city main road.
No contest, have a think about it.

The Tanami has a high volume of heavy vehicles.
I really dont think that the tourist figures that highly on the Tanami road sealing.
Mind us all though, I am sure tourist volume will increase when it is finally sealed.
It is planned to seal 150 kilometres of the Tanami Track.
Just think of road construction that could happen for the cost of putting a flag on the coat hanger
