Alas they are now planning to go after the tobacco smokers, considering copying the NZ legislation.
What a bloody double standard it ok to get $hit faced on drugs but you cannot smoke darts a legal product.
( I must admit I am a reformed smoker, but I defend the rights of others to smoke)

We never see anyone in a tobacco induced rage where that stab someone to death.
There are many more things that a govt could get tough about before they hit cigarettes.
It is a bit like biting the hand that feeds them but I think we will see this more and more where the new regime will respond to any cause except the real problems.

Before 2006 you could grow tobacco for your own consumption, not now. A lot of places have chop chop for sale if you ask around.

Ivan a reformed smoker not having had a puff since 1982.
Yes I have had the big C and I have been treated in hospital. Just recently I will add.
When I was in ICU there was a bloke in the next bed who threw his female partner down a flight of stairs in an ICE enraged episode. It was only when he was overpowered by members of the public did he receive an injury to his head that put him in hospital as well as the girl.
Both mine and the perpetrator of violence visit to hospital was not related to tobacco.
I was very concerned as to what this ICE head might do next.
Fortunately they kept him heavily sedated.

Like Ian I am a reformed smoker I gave up darts around 1985, but I still defend the right for a person to choose to smoke. Tobacco is a legal product yet it is the heighest taxed and restricted product.
About 20 years ago the combined Taxes, Excise and licence fees collected were greater than the entire health budget for the nation. One could say the smokers were paying for everyone health.
Smoking is not the cause of every cancer but it is blamed for it
