We are in QLD at the moment, but intend to travel to West Australia later this year.
Would like to know how busy it is with Grey Nomads.

Welcome to the gang Christine, enjoy here and out in the playground.
I would say it would be busy as always over in 'The Wild West' by later this year. The only thing that might slow GN's down would cost of fuel if it hasn't gone down by then. OH! If Covid causes too many dramas that might slow things down a tad too.
I will tell my cousin and his braves over there to leave you alone.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

A warm welcome from me also, Torvi (Christine)
As I live in the west, I can only say that in normal times (pre Covid)
It was mainly busy in the north of the State, during the winter tourist season
It was also mainly busy in the south of the State, during the summer tourist season
At school holiday times, it was always busier
I have been touring in the south of the State, this summer, (in free or donation campsites), and I would say that it was a bit quieter than normal times
I have no idea how fuel prices will affect the Grey Nomad travelling, I will assume (but could be wrong), that Covid restrictions are being watered down
I do not normally go to caravan parks, so I can only repeat what others have said to me
During the West Australia school holidays, it pays to book ahead if you are using caravan parks
Hope that you enjoy the road trip

As a side note Tony, did you put your old awning back on?
