From Bowna Village, now submerged in Lake Hume. Was on the " Old Sydney Road ", north of Bowna Creek. Most of town relocated when Lake Hume started to fill. Lots of foundations are visible when the lake is down to 10%.
This was found at the Bootmakers site. There is also a pub( of course), cellar door is still able to be seen.
The cordage material of the bootlaces has lasted exceptionally well.
If it is synthetic, there would be little light under water. But if left in the sun or in light, those laces are likely to have deteriorated.

Exceptional Cod Line from late 1990's. I did not want to disturb the poor old boot any further. Plus it did not come with original lace, was submerged and exposed maybe 20-30 times.
So no foot in mouth disease.

Ok, I understand now, so not original laces. Thanks for clearing that up.

Did a little google on preservation and came up short. It is so fragile I dont think dubbin or kiwi would rub on or off.
