Jordan B Peterson is a Canadian professor of psychology and has recorded many lectures which are available both on YouTube or his website as sound only podcasts.
He is an engaging speaker and explains complex philosophical concepts well. I'm currently listening to his podcasts on the bible especially the early versions and their role in forming society. The lectures are about two hours but I find I can only listen to about one hour at a time and then need a break to let my brain cool down and absorb what he's said. As best I can tell he largely speaks without notes which for such a long and complex lecture is a significant feat.
Mike, methinks you are out in the forest too long. Those Podcasts are like black holes they become too deep and create further proof/knowledge in the fact that we know nothing.

Hi Possum
You may well be right about my forest time :)
He is a brilliant man but the concepts he offers are not easy to understand. I shall preserve because I love the challenge of new knowledge.

I did a quick Cost /Benefit (Time spent listening against Amount of useful Enlightenment to be gained) Analysis about 15 minutes into one of his rambles and decided I would learn more about the meaning of life by spending time colour coding my sock draw. I don't know how many seconds I have left and do not intend to waste any on listening to someone making lots of money out of those who cannot find something better to do with their time.

Hi Mike,
I am not directly into Podcasts but Angie is, so I flicked the link to her.
I just saw the topic come to the top again so I asked her what she thought.
Her words were * it is a bit too heavy for me*

But, other than that, you enjoyed it? :)
I don't think he makes any money from the lectures as they are available free of charge from his website. I surmise his income derives from his clinical practice, university lecturing and previously published books at least one of which was a best seller.

Rob: please tell Angie that I'll try to find something a little lighter next time :)

I enjoyed the Peterson Newman interview, Mike, unfortunately it seems to have been taken down.
Peterson is a very intelligent and highly articulate man, which of course makes him a formidable debating opponent, as Newman discovered.
