Geday all , my better half and I are going to become grey nomads next year when we retire. I have my tug ( 06 100 series TD L/C) and Im not selling her. Still looking for the van. To all out there do we really require an off road van if we are going off the beaten track? Maybe a silly question but I have had a few nomads tell me just drive to the conditions sonny! Any advice /experience appreciated. Cheers

Best to have an off road van with an ensuite.

If 2 vans (one off road and a normal one) drove over the same roads and all else was equal, the off roader will suffer less damage.
Thats the theory anyway.
My last 3 vans were off roaders and oils aint and oils.
You will pay for a quality off roader.
Just because a van is called an outback etc doesn't mean its an off roader

Caravans are not the best vehicles to "go bush" in. They do get damaged.
Sell your beloved 'Cruiser and get a 4WD motorhome and you wll go to many more places in comfort and without damage.
Cheers,
Peter
