BTW, I found it on a Patrol forum where the poster had just test driven both an LC Sahara & the latest Ti L Patrol .. & rated the LC as superior .. a brave posting on a Patrol site I thought.
"Took both a LC300 Sahara and Y62 Ti-L for a drive today in Wodonga. The same route, LC first then Y62. First impressions; LC for the win.
If money wasn't an issue, the LC300 is far superior to the Y62. Yes the power, power delivery and sound is better in the Y62, but that is it.
The Ti-L and VX are now miles apart on price ($95k vs $125k), but the fit, finish, design, comfort, suspension and tech is better in the LC300 than Ti-L.
Driving the Y62 Ti-L against the LC300 Sahara is like driving the Pajero GLS against the Y62 Ti-L.
Series 6 or Y63, Nissan serious need to invest in the interior. The seats are terrible, the dash is the worst, stupid button/handbrake/dial locations, the tech is very old and don't get me started on the interior styling being based on a 1963 Mercedes.
I'll probably get the Ti-L as it's very hard to stomach the $30k difference"

Hi Craig.Did you notice that they persist with the too-short wheelbase of 2850kg,but they have dropped the GVM by 70kg,to only 3280kg,and the GCM has also dropped 100kg,to only 6750kg? Talk about a sheep in wolf's clothing.Wonder what the rear axle capacity now is,but I will find out,and report back.Still,at least they're now up to 227kw (300HP),so only about 100HP behind the Y62.Cheers.
P.S.You've got to be joking? At only 1950kg,the rear axle carrying capacity always has been the LC's achilles heel,but with the LC300 that now has dropped to only 1930kg,or 100kg LESS than that of a Y62. Spare me.

Neil.your arguement disintegrates when you cannot explain why a vehicle that you allege is "more expensive to drive" still attracts used-car buyers who are willing to pay in excess of $20,000 MORE than new price,just to get one.Must be a reason for this,and for the fact that there is a 6 month waiting list to buy a new LC79.Other makes are a "dime a dozen",and depreciate at alarming rates.Surely this would make them "expensive to drive"? Cheers

Explain why Toyota's are out numbered on the road by about 20 to 1?. If they were such a good buy there would be more.
Perhaps buyers are not so impressed. Perhaps over priced. Or considered poor value for the money.
Name one? Triton, Nissan, Isuzu, Ford, Mazda. All a better packages. That's why they are so popular.
