Mount Isa's Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic has been cancelled, for the second year in a row.

The Classic normally attracts hundreds of anglers and locals lakeside on the fourth weekend of October for a few days of fishing and fun.

Mount Isa Fish Stocking Group's Steve Farnsworth said the decision was actually made earlier this year, due to the months of planning required.

"If we get another good committee together I think it will run again [in 2022]."
