Are you talking about the Birdsville Track, the Birdsville Development Road or some other road? www.dpti.sa.gov.au/OutbackRoads

Based on your other queries, I assume you mean the Birdsville Track. At this stage, having been along the Strzelecki 4 weeks ago, I suggest that way into Queensland is better at present. Check you are still fine to go into Qld at present, as things changed again yesterday I believe, especially if you are in a hot spot. Quarantine in SA may not be enough.
You might get more responses to your questions by putting them in the Road condition forum and the General forum. Not many loook here often.
