Now now, settle a bit. Melbourne Demons are still on top, 8 straight now. Storm doing ok as well.
Thanks Chief, I have responded. It will be a super plot to dispense with any internal borders.

Hi Doug. You may be interested to learn that, among our membership, some of the more-sensitive souls get VERY upset if you send a PM AND then announce on the forum that you have done so! Seems to be a definite "No No"? Cheers. P.S I do,of course, jest.

Hi Doug. There is absolutely no need to seek forgiveness! The purpose of my previous post was not to suggest that you beg forgiveness, but to point out the stupidity of another member's demand that I cease to advise, via the forum, that I had sent a PM to a fellow member. To him, this was unacceptable,as he felt that he,too, was entitled to know what was in my PM! You will have,no doubt, noticed that I wrote "I do,of course jest",and my post was in no way an attack on you.All is good.Cheers

For all concerned souls, there is an option in your own profile settings to be notified of a PM, it comes up as a message below your login details, so fairly obvious. But It seems a few newer members have not ticked all their profile boxes.
By the way , did I mention Melbourne 8 straight. (this will haunt me I am sure)

For sure! And you don't need to only be able to leap 3 metres into the air to be a "hero". Poovtaball players. Cheers
The worst sporting code in the world played by the metrosexuals of NSW and QLD. Apart from kicking a field goal from a not far out angle by only one player who is waiting for about 5 mins just to kick, thugby league requires no skill at all. Throwing a ball backwards requires no skill at all. Thugby league has never been and will never be better than the true Australian sport - Australian rules football. The redneck followers (that refer to it as football being very ironic seeing the ball rarely makes contact with the foot) often refer to Australian Rules Football as gayfl and aerial ping pong and will bully you to death if you think otherwise. What a shame for all of the homo supporters that the code is dying out in NSW and QLD and will soon be taken over by Aussie rules. Hate Thugby League and say no to it, even if youve never seen a game, it saves you wasting 80 minutes of your life that you wont get back.
Santa I'm shocked by that undeserved tirade. It's a known fact that AFL players spend more time in the air than on the ground (yobarr says up to three metres high) so, that makes those aerial ping pong players a bit light on the loafers for sure.

Poovtaball is played by a few "men" in a handful of countries, while Rugby League is played in over 70 countries. What does that suggest to anyone who can count? Seems that being able to bounce an oval ball, leap 3metres into the air,and kick said oval ball between a couple of sticks in the ground makes any Poovtaball player a hero? And if he lacks the skill to kick said ball between the two sticks, but gets pretty close,he gets a point for trying. Seems a bit like modern schooling, where everybody gets an award? There seems to be a vicious rumour circulating that Poovtaball is played only by those not tough enough to play Rugby League? Cheers.
P.S How anybody can feel that the actions of the player in the first picture are worthy of praise is beyond me?
Association football From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Association football, more commonly known as simply football or soccer,[a] is a team sport played by all genders with a spherical ball between two teams of 11 players. It is played by approximately 250 million players in over 200 countries and dependencies, making it the world's most popular sport.

NRL 287536 total members. Afl 992854 total members.
West coast Eagles 100776 members South Sydney 29445 Members (highest membership)
Gold Coast AFL 16236 members Gold Coast NRL 7836 members (lowest membership)
With kicking, marking, handball and average of 17 kms running at high speed it might not be played in 70 countries, but is a far better spectacle.
One thing I will say, is that it's over umpired. Too many technical free kicks.
Guess its what you grow up with.

poovtaball
An amusing term that speaks volumes about the thought processes and attitude of the user, a psychiatrist would have a field day analyzing both players and spectators.
I'm wondering what enjoyment people get out of watching this sort of aggression, sends a great message to kids doesn't it?

All sports and pastimes have the possibility of ending up in a brawl Santa. One of the biggest punch ups happened at a chess championship. Usually the fights at rugby matches are out in the open and everyone seems to be a willing participant.
I don't watch AFL but I remember most of the dirty play is usually some player striking the other player as they run past or when the victim does not see the attack coming.
Watching a few boofheads slugging it out is pretty funny when watching from the sidelines or the comfort of a lounge chair.

I don't know if you're being a smart alec or homophobic. "Poovta" obviously is a word once used towards homosexuals.
The year is 2021, not 1960. We should NOT be using words that stigmatized the gay community.
Shame on you.
There should be no place for you on this forum.

It's funny how perspectives change as we get older Santa.. I remember the highlight of the weekend when I was younger was to go to the flicks especially if there was a western showing. Blokes in the movies would get hit over the noggin with guns and just shake their heads and walk off. Other blokes would get absolutely flogged in a bar fight and have no marks on them. If the good guy got shot it was always in the arm and left no permanent injury. To top it off, the hero would also catch the attention of some beautiful woman but would choose to ride off into the sunset with his mate. I don't think it had too much of an impact on our mental well being.

His sport ............Rugby League.
Seems gay men play everywhere! Remember Ian Thorpe?
Great to see rugby league is as inclusive as AFL is according to the resident experts here.
Guess some will need to look to some other sport for their real men, as defined according to them.
It suggests it is a minority interest sport.
