True story and the joke was on the young people

At a wedding I attended, there were about a dozen or so young people on the dance floor, doing their modern at the time (about 1995), dancing

An older (about 75 years young) bloke got up

I will show you the latest dance steps, he loudly proclaimed

He started to do, what I can only describe as something between, Mr Bean, and much sillier dance steps

The young folks gathered around him in a circle, their feet were moving, but they could not learn his dance steps, mainly because no two steps were exactly the same

After about 10 minutes, the old bloke was puffed, and left the dance floor, while the young people soldiered on, trying to remember all the steps of this new dance

Some of them came to the table the old man was sitting, and asked what was the name of the dance

He said

You can call it what you want, I had just invented it
