The Norwegian Medicines Agency reported on Thursday that 13 people who got a dose of the vaccine died shortly after suffering side effects. That amounts to just 0.04 percent of the more than 30,000 people who have been given the jab across Norway in recent weeks.
All the deaths occurred among patients in nursing homes, and all were over the age of 80.
The agency listed fever and nausea as side effects which may have led to the deaths of some frail patients, it said in a report.
Regulators are now leaving it up to each doctor to consider who should be vaccinated.
What we say is that if you have patients who are very frail, very sick, and they have a short remaining lifespan, you should do some extra evaluation of the appropriateness of vaccinating these patients, Steinar Madsen, chief physician at the Norwegian Medicines Agency, told Euronews.

It's a concerning headline. There were two deaths in Israel (after 600,000 vaccinations) and 1 death in Switzerland. The causes were inconclusive, though.
Pfizer's trials also recorded 6 deaths, 2 amongst those who received the vaccine, and 4 who received placebos.
As for Norway, nobody is saying that 23 people died because of the vaccine. The actual causes are still being determined. Preliminary results of autopsies do show some side effects in some patients, though.
The thing which bothers me most is the lack of transparency. It only feeds the antivaxxers when the authorities refuse to provide details by citing "privacy" as the reason.
No deaths were mentioned in this news article, but there were several severe allergic reactions:
At that point, 1.9 million people had been vaccinated, putting the rate of severe allergic reactions at 11.1 cases per 1 million doses of vaccine used.
Since the report was finalised, at least eight more cases of vaccine-related anaphylaxis have been confirmed in the US, as millions more Americans receive their first COVID-19 jab.
I tried to read this CDC "Press Briefing Transcript", but the uppercase text hurt my eyes. Are they really that stupid?

The misinformation is in the use of your word "because". "Because" denotes causality. The report says no more than the people died around the time of the vaccination. Nowhere does the report say that they died as a consequence of being vaccinated. 23 very old and frail people dying shortly after a specific event is not outside statistical probability. Noting that side effects like fever and nausea may accompany vaccination, and old age and frailty, in the persons that are subject of the report has led to a general warning to consider whether or not to vaccinate is the conclusion of the report. The last line of the report is the information that is to be absorbed and not extrapolated into panic.

Well Izabarack, are you willing to risk your life, and that of your family, knowing you may actually die from the jab. We were going to take it, but both my wife and I have chronic health conditions, she has severe asthma, and I have allergies to bee stings, certain medications and seafood. These are some of the conditions, that the vaccine companies say, should avoid having the vaccine. You and your family, could have an underlying problem, that you don't know about, and will only find out about when you take the vaccine. This is the problem, when rushing vaccines, that they could have tested more thoroughly into this year. This virus was always going to kill alot of people, but rushing thru a vaccine, is not he way to go about it.

What worries me more than the vaccine is that ....according to the news..... people who have had the virus are immune from getting it again for about 5 months! I find that very scary. At least when we got chickenpox etc we knew we were pretty safe for the rest of our lives. Does the vaccine provide immunity for longer than that?
Its an advice document written by professionals for the medical profession, I'm sure if you had had the appropriate education it would all make sense.

I believe the Oxford vaccine study was on 9000 people only, that's not a lot in terms of discovering side effects and especially so in such a short time frame.
And, keep in mind, there are many other C19 vaccines currently in development which may prove to be better than the current three.

Dr Madsen said about 45,000 patients had been vaccinated so far in Norway, most in nursing homes.

Instead of Frail & vulnerable people who are unlikely to transmit covid to others, why don't they vaccinate those who are most likely to spread the virus among the population first. ie Health workers, nursing home staff , bar staff and customers, people who live in crowded housing flats and in general people who move about and contact lots of people. Or, don't they have confidence that the vaccination will stop transmission and only as has been suggested prevent the virus making you sick?

Good news from Australia
Antiparasitic drug Ivermectin kills coronavirus in 48 hours
The vaccine in Australia, will be rolled out in sequence, as laid down by the health guidelines
My age group 70 to 79, will be in the second call up
I assume, (but do not know, and have not looked into it) That one day I will be told to go to, (such and such a place), to receive the Covid-19 vaccine
Some time later (after I have had the first vaccine), I will be told to go to, (such and such a place), to receive the booster vaccine
I would be surprised, if the authorities would be prepared to allow someone, to dictate when they would receive the vaccine, as the are about 26 million of us here
When I consider the logistics of vaccinating 26 million people, twice within a few short weeks/months I doubt that they will keep some on hand, for when/if any anti anti-vaxers decide to change their minds
I believe that it will be the humane thing, to send any surplus vaccines we have left, to the countries that are hard hit by Covid-19
Also I have read, but have had no reason to keep any links, but I am sure people can google it
West Australia has said that it will not fine anyone for refusing the vaccine
One State (I think it was NSW), are thinking of a phone app, that says you have had the Covid-19 vaccine And if you have not had the vaccine, you will be refused entry to certain places

Life has risks, period.
If my name comes out of the vaccine draw I'll be first in line, I would prefer the odds of vaccine protection that may extend my life; to refusing vaccine, contracting COVID19 and ending up on life support or death as a consequence. I certainly have taken much greater risks with my life than accepting a shot in the arm.

Instead of thinking of one's self, think about the wider community. My concern is that a new mutation may put many more people at risk. So far this virus has not affected young children, but who is to say that all mutations will be so "benign"?

Misinformation is the enemy of truth.
Norwegian officials have adjusted their advice on who should receive COVID-19 vaccines following a small number of deaths in older and frail people.
© Fredrik Hagen/NTB via AP Svein Andersen was the first in Norway to receive the coronavirus vaccine in the capital Oslo, Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020.
