I believe that some earlier models had significant problems but they were corrected - As always check current status on owner facebook pages, lemon caravans & RV's, Download free Technical reports, buyers guides and checklists on Caravan Council of Australia website.

Welcome to the gang John, enjoy here and out in the playground.
All the best for 2021 to your good self.
JB have a good name now but as Possum said, do your research. Especially with upgrades to the Dmax. Might be best to look at something the Dmax can tow 'within' it's limits now.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Hi BOD
I have owned my JB scorpion for 18 months which I bought second hand and am happy with it .The reason we chose JB is we toured the factory and were impressed with the quality of the build and their back up service in capital cities around oz. If I chose to build new JB would be high on the list.Lots of people are down sizing to the gator which is single axle but small payload or the dirt roader which is a bit lighter than the scorpion. The JB Facebook site has lots of information as well.
There full off road vans over 19 6 start at tare weight of 2700 kg so with a dmax you will more than likely need a gvm and gcm upgrade depending on your state laws.My Dmax has the upgrade to 7 ton gcm upgrade and tows and handles my rig with ease unlike some comments on previous posts that are unfounded. If you are looking for more info do a search on grey nomads for the subject you are after and try and read through the jargon. Cheers
