We're new at this - have just purchased a motorhome (Windsor Daintree on a Renault - not sure about it yet as picked it up - drove home and now at dealers trying to sort out a 'spanner light' issue after 461 klms - after having had a lovely Opal caravan towed by a Navara bit daunting) - our thoughts were that it will make just getting up and going easier.
Both retired - and enjoy lawn bowls and surfing.
Plan on free camping all over - just as soon as we can get all over...

Welcome to the gang NanaSuki, enjoy here and out in the playground.
I don't know much about motor homes so will leave any info to those that have. I chose a CV because I wanted to leave things set up and go out with the car. I said to myself, self, if you have to tow a little car you might just as well tow a CV and have a 4x4 to go out in.
Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

A warm welcome from me also, NanaSuki
The spanner light on the dash, usually means that it is due for an engine service
If your vehicle is new, and it has only travelled 461 Ks, then the dealer will just reset the spanner light
If the vehicle is second hand, either its next service is due, or if it had just been serviced, they had not entered when the new service should be
As you are into free camps and lawn bowls
I will mention the Richmond (north of Sydney), lawn bowls club, (where I have stayed a few times)
The name is Wanderest Travellers Park, over the road, and owned by the lawn bowling club
There is a fee to join, and so many days of free, or cheap $10 night, if you want power
