This one has probably been up before, but worth repeating

Man retired and his wife said, that as the household income had fallen, he would have to stop drinking beer

Man thought that it was a reasonable thing to do, and when they went shopping, he did not buy his carton of beer

He noticed his wife was buying make-up, so he asked if they could still afford it

"But darling, I wear the make-up, to keep looking beautiful for you." Wife replied

"That is what I brought the beer for." Grumbled the man, under his breath
