I did much the same with my daughters "first" boy that she introduced to me ( that night I found out he wasn't her first boyfriend, as her mum knew about the other two), and I gave him the drill/grill, then in the course of finding out about him there in my lounge room, he told me, it was his idea to meet me, so I thought cool, I could like this kid, but my daughter had other ideas, and dumped him a couple of weeks later, telling me he was too nice, and was not "cool" enough. I was disappointed, but as a parent you can't run their lives for them.
