Queensland police are enforcing the new coronavirus border restrictions, looking out for what's been dubbed 'interstate people-smuggling'.
Restrictionsnow apply to anyone arriving from Victoria - even returning Queensland residents - requiring them pay for two weeks' compulsory hotel quarantine.
PremierAnnastacia Palaszczuk says trucks and other vehicles will be stopped at the border and checked for undeclared travellers.
Mmm, I wonder if that applies top people coming in by plane from Melbourne into Townsville. I was just talking to my daughter up there and she said a plane form Melbourne landed this afternoon.
Keep Safe out there everyone.
Edit....What is happening to all the AFL players going to the hub on the Gold Coast Also and as well even, the ones going to Sydney.

I heard today that 2 men (19 & 23 yr old) were stopped in Bordertown, warned about their behaviour and sent back to Vic. Several hours later they were rescued from being bogged on a dirt back road not far away, towed back to Vic and fined $1000.00 each!
Mmm!

Dougwe those people on the flight to Townsville were probably Qids returning home or travellers who transitted through Melbourne from states that QLD have designated as being 'low risk' - individual states can close their borders but they are still responsible for repatriating their own residents.
Sorry mate we don't need the added risk of AFL teams coming to Sydney - going to the NRL is fine with us. Probably should tell the Swans and that other mob currently playing out of western Sydney to relocate to WA, SA, NT, Tas or Qld then none of them would need to come here
Cheers

BB, I don't really follow AFL but like my NRL and support Storm closely followed by Cowboys as I am usually in Townsville during the season. I was thinking more along the lines of why are people from Melbourne/VIC not allowed in QLD yet the players can go there. Seems two sets of rules. Yes, I know they are in a hub but others could isolate for 14 days then off they go if OK.
Maybe I shouldn't let it annoy me as I have no plans of leaving where I am hanging out anyway just yet.
Keep Safe out there.

Dougwe I guess as usual its the politicians doing whats popular and not necessarily what's right. When the NRL said that were going ahead with their competition regardless of the border closures the Qld and Vic premiers quickly changed their minds about allowing teams to play in their states. To her credit it's only the NZ Prime Minister who has continued to stand her ground on this. The NZ Warriors are doing it extremely hard especially those with young children - as much as they have tried the NRL can't get anyone in the government to budge on allowing their family members to join them on compassionate grounds.
I am not that impressed with your choice of NRL teams as they happen to be the only 2 sides that have beaten my Knights this year.
Keep your feathers down mate as you said it's better if you can stick somewhere that you know is low risk.
Cheers

BB, your Knights are having problems because they are playing during the day and not at night.
The feather will be fine as long as someone doesn't spill the tar.
Keep Safe out there.
Edit.....Forgot to say, Storm won again Can't say that about the Cowboys though

Arrivals into Townsville?
The thoughts were that there were only 2 passengers but I doubt whether Mr Joyce would do that as he likes a profit.
It seems that they were ASIO operatives as no-one is saying anything. That includes the police, Jetstar, airport management.

Keep Safe out there.

Lots of ASIO travelling. Read that a planeload flew into Griffith(NSW) from Melbourne this morning. No quarantine apparently. No one saying anything either.
