Hi All
Australia is a great country and the people are even better, especially those of us that travel towing vans.
We are Kiwis enjoying Australia and Australians. Bev and I started our great Australian adventure early last year and went home for summer (sorry Aussie is just too hot for us). We are now locked down with no prospect of returning to Australia to continue our adventure.
Insurance companies are saving 100s of millions of dollars during the pandemic as claims and risks have dramatically reduced. In the USA premiums are being refunded. We need to highlight this issue to our insurers and get some action.
We have just paid our premium and I have asked KTA for a credit or adjustment. If not forthcoming Ill cancel the policy and expect a refund.
Im keen to know what other peoples thoughts or experiences are on this issue?
Scott

Welcome to the gang Scott, enjoy here and out in the playground.
I live in my aluminium tent full time and even though bunkered down, luckily in a CVP for the much colder months by the look of it due to CV19, I need to have my insurance stay the same, even without travel.
Keep Safe out there.

Maybe the reduced claims now will offset the increased claims from the Australia wide bushfires during summer, which would have resulted in higher premiums.

Still have the risks of fire and theft so I'm not grizzling about mine.

A warm welcome from me Scott
Are KTA some sort of Insurance brokers, as they have never come on my radar, when obtaining quotes for my motorhome
As I only have a few months before my insurance is due to be renewed, I shall take a "wait and see" stance
At the moment I am happy with my insurance
Last insurance year, they replaced my damaged awning, (I paid the extra)
This insurance year, they replaced a damaged windscreen (nearly $1,000), at no cost to me

Ken Tame and Associates is a wholly owned subsidiary of Allianz who specialise in motorhome insurance. They were an independent broker until Ken (the man) retired and sold the organisation.
Membership of the CMCA (who take a commission) is a pre condition.
Cheers,
Peter

Scott, some insurance companies have stand down time available at cheaper rates, perhaps you could save by changing over if not available thru KTA.
I have a cheaper rate for 6 months thru NRMA. Worthwhile savings.
IMO good to see Insurance Companies getting a little benefit after what they have had to deal with over the last few years.
Chris.

Thanks for that Peter (Peter and Margaret)
KTA (Ken Tame & Associates)
I (for whatever reason), thought that it was just Ken Tame, or perhaps Ken Tame Insurance
